When is summer for you?

Many people around the world are celebrating right now, because it's summer! Schools are out, and many folks are off on vacation - but it isn't summer everywhere. For those in the Southern hemisphere, it's winter now, and summer won't come calling for another few months! And even across those countries where it is summer, that can mean very different things.

So what about you? Is it summer where you are? Does that mean you have a holiday planned or a break from normal life? Or is it like every other season for you?

I live in the southern Hemisphere which means summer comes around December. To me summer is Christmas and New year. Summer is Valentines and new beginnings. I live inland and we use to plan a whole trip to the coast to visit my family and my grandparents. Perfect time to visit the beach every day and taking lovely walks in the evenings. Sitting outside during the night to watch the stars and Milkyway. We haven't done that in some time and whenever I put up my Christmas décor at home, my mind goes to such happy places and excite me for the holidays and new year. I always look forward to it. We like to treat ourselves with lovely food and all kinds of baking. A tradition my brother and I started was to Co-op play a game on new years eve through to the new year and then to stop and watch the fireworks. That is summer to me.
