RQT Awards

As most of you know, the 2009-2010 quidditch season ended this weekend with another Ravenclaw victory over Slytherin! Great job guys! Since the season is over, we have a few awards to give out! The first awards are the Captain's Choice awards for our final 3 games. For those of you who don't know about the award, it is an honour presented to the Ravenclaw Quidditch player whom the captains decide demonstrate excellent dedication, sportsmanship, and skill.
For our game against HQT, Tara and I had a very easy choice to make (after of course we recovered from the heart attack Hufflepuff gave us!). While the entire team played a good close game, we never managed to get safe from the snitch. Towards the end of the game we were behind and it looked like our winning streak was about to come to an end. However, our amazing seeker Alexia Riaper caught the snitch at the last minute and won the game for us! That is why she is the winner of the Captain's Choice Award for our HQT game.
Our next game was against GQT and boy was it an interesting one! After problems with the snitch, a 20 minute delay, and a ref change, the game finally got underway and ended in another victory for RQT. For handling the entire situation so well and playing great after all the delays, Tara and I decided to give the award to every team member who played that game: Tara Aurelium, Kiri Galdor, Maya Winters, Prof. Cassandra Sparkleissa Lobiesk, Kyrie Adderholt, Karen Circa, and Prof. Mark Mandrake (even though he's still not done >>).
For our game against SQT. The award goes to the keeper who this game was none other than the game's MVP Helena Rosenblum. It was her first game keeping and she blocked every goal attempt giving RQT a shut out quafflewise!
The next awards are for the final 3 games also, but these were voted on by members of the team. The Eagle's Talont Award is an honour presented to the Ravenclaw Quidditch player who combines great trivia knowledge with good sportsmanship.
For our game against HQT, the majority of voters agreed with Tara and I that Alexia Riaper truly deserved recognition for her amazing catch and saving our winning streak! Congrats again Alexia! (good thing you love awards right?!)
In our game against GQT, we were missing our normal keeper and decided to give one of our most dedicated newbies a chance to keep. Not only did she play a fabulous game, she blocked several goals against more experienced players. The majority of the team agreed that Karen "brat" Circa should win the Eagle's Talont Award for an amazing keeping performance!
We faced SQT during the final game of the season. It was a great game for all of the Eagles who played, but Kiri Galdor truly stood out. As her fellow beater that game, I can easily say that she was a tough competitor and stopped SQT from getting close to the keeper. Congrats brat! <3
Congrats everyone on your awards and congrats to the entire team for a fantastic season! Special thanks to everyone who came out to cheer us on!
