As you look at your welcome packet and see what Team you have been assigned, you wonder if there will be anyone you know in your tent? Looking up, you scan the banners waving in the wind and spot yours. Excitedly, you head in that direction.
As you approach your campsite, you notice that there are already quite a few other campers in various stages of putting their luggage into tents and chatting around an unlit fire pit. You walk up to your camp counselor who consults the list in their hand and points out your tent to you. Each tent has four cots in it, and yours only has one empty one left. “I guess that one’s mine!” you say and shove your bags underneath it. “Come join us outside after you get settled in. It’s time to meet your team!” says your exuberant camp counselor.
As you pull out your sleeping bag and put it out on your cot, you wonder what kind of ice-breaking games they’re going to make you play. You wonder what kind of people will be in your tent with you, and on your team, and what kinds of activities you all will be doing together.
Well, I guess it’s time to find out!
Task: In a comment below, in 100 words or more, leave your name and what school you are joining us from (feel free to pick any school you please as your home school for this activity), as well as what you are hoping to get out of your camp experience this year!
Alternatively, create a graphic of your tent or campsite and post below, remembering that graphics embedded directly into posts can be no larger than 600x600 pixels. This can be a photo of what you imagine your campsite or tent would look like, a map of your campsite or tent, or anything else you can think of, be creative!
This task is worth 10 beans, with 10 additional beans available if all Week One activities are completed. Everything is due by 11:59 pm HOL time on August 31st.

I am Galena Maverick May, joining Camp Hogwarts this year, from the Uagadou School of Magic, South Africa. My middle name describes exactly what I like to do during my summer breaks, especially during summer camps.
Hogwarts is a renowned school and the students are known to be unique and resilient. I am looking forward to meeting them and fraternizing with as many of them as I can. I am also looking forward to catching a glimpse of the personalities of students from different wizarding schools around the world.
Getting a cup for my team is one of my motivations, because after all who doesn't want a dose of healthy teamwork in small groups. Bolstering teamwork is essential for a very bright future, and if I can get the cup along with my team, it will be an added bonus.
But, most of all, I want to be weirdly myself in the company of magical creatures and bring my own flavor to the activities that will be offered here. I do not behave anything like normal during the summer break, but I do not mean I will be breaking any rules. I will only be attempting to feel the most magical possible, in a metaphorical sense, throughout the magical summer camp.

Hi, I'm Kathren. I'm a Puckwudgie from Ilvermorny over in the US. I remember coming here once before, but it has been a long time; I think it was just after my first year. I don't remember much about what we did that year, though, just that I had a lot of fun. I'm not normally super talkative, so I will probably just stay in the background a lot of the time during the activities. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and seeing how all of this has changed while I was gone over the last few years.

Hello, everyone! I'm River Fenwick from Ilvermorny. I'm so excited to have joined Camp Hogwarts this year! I hope to bond with fellow students from all over the world in different wizarding schools and participate in all the fun camp activities, seeing old faces and new faces come together to enjoy camp and participate in their teams. Perhaps some mischief will call to me during my days here, but we'll only know for sure by the time camp ends. Luckily, I already know someone on my team, and I am confident we can become the victors of Camp Hogwarts during the duration of the camp!

Hello everyone, my name is Lexa and I am a student at Ilvermorny in the United States. I've been excited about being an exchange student at Hogwarts and am especially excited for Camp Hogwarts.
I mostly want to help my team win the Magical Creature Cup, but I am also looking forward to making new friends. I am more on the shyer side, but I do enjoy summer camps for the experience of learning new things and meeting new people.
I am also hoping to win both of the beautiful camp awards that are being offered, even if my team doesn't win the Cup. The artwork for all the rewards is lovely!

by Emily Spencer
Hi, everyone! My name is Emily, and I come all the way from Russia! My home school is Kildovstoretz, which hopefully you've heard of *smiles* And yes, the rumors you've heard about it being hidden under the lake are true! I suppose that makes me a mermaid, yes?!
Anyway, it was quite a process to get accepted at all. I'm actually not Russian; my family lives in Estonia. So in order to get admitted to Kildovstoretz, I had to go through a lengthy admission process to see if I was worthy. My family and I chose the school because of its excellent reputation for Herbology and Potions. I was put in Blue Court, which I suppose is what you would call a 'House', that specializes in those same subjects. My father is a master potioneer and I hope to follow in his footsteps, so it was a perfect fit.
My reasons for coming to camp are quite simple. I needed a break! Studies at Kildovstoretz can be quite *ahem* intense and it was starting to affect me in many ways. My mother swears I am too serious and need to relax and 'just be a teenager' for a while, so here I am! I hope to make new friends and enjoy many new experiences while I'm here with all of you. Thank you for having me!

Hi everyone! I'm Lex Green and I'm a third year from Ilvermony in the US, but my parents both studied at Hogwarts when they were younger. I'm in the Horned Serpent house at Ilvermorny, but a fun fact about me is that I was chosen by both Horned Serpent and Pukwudgie when I was sorted! When they were at Hogwarts, my mom was in Hufflepuff and my dad was a Slytherin. I'm super excited to be here at Camp Hogwarts and to hopefully learn more about what Hogwarts life is like, and what my parents' education and experience would have been like!

Hi everyone! My name is Anne-Marie Gagne and I’m a third year student at Ilvermorny in the United States. I’m a Pukwudgie though it was close between it and Thunderbird when I was being sorted!
I’m hoping to make some friends and have lots of fun at Camp Hogwarts! Meeting up with so many people from other magical schools sounds like such an exciting time. I’m also hoping that I do well on the tasks to help my team win the competition and get the Magical Creature Cup. I also hope that the other campers have just as much fun as I do!

Hi Everyone!
My name is Evelin Stockom and I am from Castelobruxo located deep within the amazon forests.
i can't wait to be in a camp, learning survival skills, team spirit and interactive leadership, going trekking and especially the songs and marshmallow treats at the daily bornfire. Having a school situated amongst nature, I have always felt connected to this world more and what better way to make friends from around the world while I'm at it.
