Week 3 - Task 08. - Herbologist Hike
Posted: Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:26 pm
Today the Camp Director has gathered everyone at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. This place gives you the creeps, so you hope no one is going to make you go in there.
A hush goes over the campers as the Camp Director stands up to speak:
“A very traditional camp passtime is hiking, and where better to hike than our own Forbidden Forest! Today’s activity and competition towards earning your team the Magical Creature Cup is an Herbologist Hike. This will consist of both magical plant identification and orienteering.
“Each team will receive a map with a hiking course unique to your team (so don’t bank on following another team because their path is different from yours!) along with a chart of 10 different magical plants that can be found along the way. The first team to reach the end of their hike with specimens collected for each of the ten plants on their list will be today’s winner.
“Not to worry, your counselors will be guiding you to ensure you don’t get lost, or worse! Have fun, see you in a bit!”
Nervously, you make your way over to your camp counselor and look at the map and chart of plants. This will be fun. This will be fun. This will be fun. You repeat it to yourself like a mantra. And it will be fun. Right?
Task: Navigate your way through this maze, and send your completed maze to both me and Prof. Sindor Aloyarc in a private message.
Alternatively, do some research and write 100 words or more about plants you may find in the forest in Scotland. Include at least 5 different plants.
This task is worth 10 beans, with 10 additional beans available if all Week Three activities are completed. Everything is due by 11:59 pm HOL time on August 31st.
