Week Two - Task 04. - “The Detective Within”

The vanished village simply doesn’t sit right with you – why would it anyway when it’s a case like this?

You, the self-appointed detective you stepped up to be, have been spending your time gathering information, digging your head into each book and observing what occurs by or in the mysterious forest each day. It hasn’t been getting you quite far, however. It seems that all the pages in the history books have yet to have a vanished village mentioned within them. Still, you feel the detective within you stirring, and you feel an undeniable motivation to crack the case.

Task:
With each step you take in figuring this out, though little, you are igniting the detective within. What type of detective are you in a mystery? Answer the following quiz to know: https://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/st ... d-quiz_754
Provide a screenshot of your results and write at least 25 words detailing whether or not you agree with your results and why.
Note: The results also include a specific detective and a specific author, and you may include those in your screenshot or explanation (I’ve found them to be very interesting information as well!), but for this task, please focus on the type of detective for full beans.

Alternatively, in at least 125 words, write about how you find or gather information. What’s your natural approach to learning something new or attaining new information? Do they dive deep into books, converse with others, observe their surroundings, rely on visual tools to understand, or learn by doing?

This task is worth 15 beans/sapphires. You can earn an additional 10 bonus beans for completing all Week Two tasks by Friday, October 31st, at 11:59 PM (HOL time).

Upon completion of this task, an additional “task” in the form of a symbol or puzzle will be sent to you by me, Katherine Laurier, through Private Message within 24 hours. You can accomplish this as a means of earning more beans and sapphires, however this is not required for you to complete, just like any other “regular” task. Alternatives for the symbol/puzzle may be requested through the same Private Message. For more detailed information, feel free to check Information and Questions or ask me a question through PM!

I agree with the results and like what was said and who is described. I think the author wrote an excellent character that does not let obstacles stand in her way and works hard and creatively. I feel That this could have been me in another life.

As much of an honor it is to be described in such a way, I'm afraid I have to disagree that it fits me because I wouldn't say that I'd forego social norms much at all, let alone to solve a case.

I definitely agree with this result. I like knowing small details, and would do much better analysing evidence than attempting to talk to witnesses/suspects.

I got Amateur Detective.
I agree with the results because I can safely say I have never solved a professional crime, so I think the quiz is pretty accurate on that front. It somehow made out that I work nowhere close to the police force.

One thing I love about this quiz is that for each question, there was at least one option that completely resonated with me.

This is pretty much true. I can be a bit shy, but I can relate to Kinsey Millhone. I would say I'm as energetic as that, but I don't like to quit until things are finished or cases are solved. I am very honest and try to be fair.

I don't think I agree with this very much at all haha. I can be quite funny, but not really in a comedic detective way, and I think if I was a detective, I would be more smart-leaning than comedy-leaning. Then again, I would be a terrible detective, I'm way too scared of things to be any good, so who knows?!

Oh I absolutely agree with this one! I'd very much be a Miss Marple or Joyce Meadowcroft sort of detective - invite witnesses and suspects in for tea and join the dots!

Apologies for double post, finger slipped before I finished revising and couldn't work out how to edit! Full description should read:

Oh I absolutely agree with this one! I'd very much be a Cozy Detective, as much as I'm a Gryffindor ready for action and adventure, really when it comes down for it I think I'd just stumble into these adventures by inviting the right (or wrong) person in for tea. A Miss Marple or Joyce Meadowcroft sort of detective in that regard - invite witnesses and suspects in for tea and then join the dots from there!
