Week Two: Task #5 - “Mysterious Potions Madness”
Posted: Fri Nov 08, 2024 5:12 am
As you walk through the forest with your group, you enter into a clearing where there appears to be almost a whole potions classroom set up! While you’ve been walking, the potion’s professor who is with you has been regaling you of the wonders of the different plants that can be used as potion ingredients that you’ve been passing by. There has been a lot of interesting information, but it has been a lot, and you’re not sure how much you’ll actually be able to remember.
As you and the other students wander around the clearing, looking at the cauldrons and other equipment neatly laid out, the professor explains that they have brought out a few portable potion making kits for your next activity.
“You will see a small vial of potion next to each cauldron,” they explain.
“Your task will be to discern what ingredients make up this potion using the kits you see in front of you. You will work in teams, using whatever methods you may find helpful. The first team to do this accurately will win my favor … and a homework pass for my class which will excuse you from any one homework assignment.”
The students around you start talking excitedly and splitting up into groups. As you approach your station with your group, you pick up the vial of potion. It looks familiar. It’s gold in color, and it appears to be moving around in the vial. You think you know what it is, but now you have to try to figure out what’s in it. Time to put your potions skills to work!
Task: Solve this fallen letter puzzle to find out what ingredients are in this potion, and send your solution in a private message to BOTH me and Mia Fountain. Alternatively, write at least 100 words on how you figured out what ingredients were in the potion, and what potion you think it is!
This activity is worth 10 beans/sapphires, with an additional 10 beans/sapphires available if all Week Two tasks are completed by the due date. Everything is due at 11:59 pm HOL time on November 30th.
