Got a great idea for a debate topic? Have a strong opinion that you'd like to argue for or against? Or maybe you're undecided on a subject and want to see others' arguments for each side!
Here's your chance! We are always open to topic ideas whether they're Harry Potter related, light-hearted or more serious real world topics. Reply below to share any ideas you have and we can add them to our upcoming topic list! It's always really appreciated to be given suggestions. It also makes our job a lot easier...(debate topic idea: Are Leonie and Joey just being lazy?).

If Snape had lived, would he have looked at Harry in a more positive light?
If Snape had lived, would he have spent time in Azkaban?
Does Harry belong with Ginny, Hermione, or someone else?
Did Albus Dumbledore focus too much on the Greater Good at the expense of individuals?

Would the Basilisk be petrified if it saw itself in a mirror?
When one transfigures a desk into a pig and then back again, has one magically created a pig with the soul of a desk? Or does one then have a desk with the soul of a pig?
If owls can track people without a location, why didn’t Voldemort or other enemies use owls to track people?

Does time travel just create an alternative reality or is there no way to change the course of time?
(Example: If when Harry and Hermione time-travelled in Book 3, he had not saved himself with a Patronus, would time still have fixed everything or created an alternate reality where one version of Harry still lived?)

Would the world be a better or worse place if the statute of secrecy had been abolished a hundred years ago? What changes would have occurred. What would the world be like now.
Or if it's better to frame this as a debate proposition:
Today's world would be better for Wizard and Muggle alike if the statute of secrecy had been abolished a century ago.
