The evening is calmer this day, quieter, and you feel braver. You make a bold decision: wandering right into the territory.
It’s just a forest after all. Not that big of a deal.
You shrug, and sneakily step foot past the first trees.
You are wary, walking cautiously and turning your head around every step. You’re confused, to say the least, because it did indeed seem like it was just an ordinary forest.
But you notice how it felt too ordinary. It was almost odd. You pause, taking in your surroundings. It’s too quiet. No birds chirping, no squirrels darting through the branches. There’s a stillness here, an unnatural one. You write it down on your notepad.
You feel like you’re missing something each time you blink, as if there was something more that was right in front of your eyes but you couldn’t quite catch it. There was a spark of light in the corner of your eyes, but you blame it on the setting sun. It seems like it is truly just a forest.
You leave the forest, more information acquired but more questions developed in turn.
