If you have any questions that are not answered below please post it below or private message one of the organizers and myself (Mia Fountain).
When do signups for the activity close?
Signups are open until the end of the activity, all tasks are due by November 30th at 11:59 pm HOL time.
Which team will I be on?
Ravenclaw staff and students are divided into nests (blue and bronze) by the first letter of their first name. Students and Staff from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin will be added into one of the nests when they sign up for the activity. To keep things fair members from the three houses will be placed into one of the nests in the order they sign up for the activity, while trying to keep the teams as even as possible.
How is the winning team determined?
Each week we will post the totals for each of the teams, including the totals for each of the team members. The winning team is the team with the most items found including bonuses for completing all four tasks for a given week.
Why are there missing tasks?
Each organizer is responsible for posting their own tasks and depending on their schedules and time zones, they may not be able to post until later in the day. Don't worry, the tasks will be posted as soon as possible!
Why is the task I completed not recorded in the spreadsheet? Where are my bonus beans/sapphires?
It can take up to 48 hours for completed tasks to be added to the spreadsheet. If 48 hours has passed, please reach out to the organizer of the task to double check. Bonus beans/sapphires can be missed while tasks are updated in the spreadsheet, but they are usually caught before the week's totals are posted.
What if I can't/don't want to do a particular task?
If a particular task is too impractical or undesirable for you to complete, you may do an alternative task or skip the task. If an alternative task is not provided along with the task you can ask for one or suggest one.
How do I post Graphics?
You can upload a graphic you have created to an image hosting site. Some popular image hosting sites are Postimages, Imgur, and Imgbb. Once you have uploaded the image to an image hosting site, you can copy a link. The “BBCode” to attach on The Roost forum submissions (which can be accomplished automatically for you by the click of a button from options on some of the image hosting sites) is [*img][*/img] with url in the middle (i.e. [*img]link[*/img]) — NOTE: You would remove the asterisks (*) in order for this code to be successful. They’re added here to display the example effectively. Images imbedded directly into posts must be kept within 600x600 pixels.
Can I use AI to complete a task?
If the task is a written task, no you cannot use AI. Written tasks must be written in your own words. If the task is an artwork task, you cannot submit any graphics that are created purely from AI. Any artwork you submit must have been altered, added to , and/or changed in some way by you. For more information on AI and it's use at HOL, please see Use of AI Tools on HOL.
