Week Four - Task #12. - “The Ravenclaw Towers”

Postby Katherine Laurier » Wed Apr 02, 2025 9:21 am

Finally, your team has done it! The journey has been long, three hours spent peeking over and under every object of every room. But now, you can finally walk up to the Ravenclaw Towers.

After a few minutes, every team is in the room, excited chatter and grins on each face.

The organizers you had seen earlier at the Great Hall are up in front again, and one speaks, "Congratulations, everyone, on completing RPM 2025! We truly appreciate everyone's participation, regardless of the number of badges found."

"Now, we would like you all to take this time to reflect with your team and share your thoughts on your journey. Have a fun time recalling every struggle and success before we announce the final results," they say and step down, allowing everyone to turn to each other and begin talking once again.

You glance around at your team, the faces you’ve come to rely on through every twist and turn of the thrilling adventure. Someone chuckles, bringing up that one location that had you all running in circles. Across the room, similar conversations fill the air, a mixture of laughter, thoughtful nods, and retellings of each moment that made up the joyful Ravenclaw Pride Month 2025.

Task:
Write a poem reflecting upon your experience during the scavenger hunt for RPM 2025, whether that be obstacles you faced, successes, lessons you learned, memories you made, emotions you felt, and other things you may have associated or associate with your journey. Please make sure the poem is at least 100 words and includes at least 3 of the following words: find, treasure, pride, journey, team, Hogwarts, badge, medal.

Alternatively, in at least 150 words, write about your favorite part/s of RPM 2025, whether in character or out of character. Feel free to be creative, ex. make up a story about one of your experiences in scavenging.

RPM 2025 was a spectacular journey,
With honor on the line, we split into four teams,
Decided based on the color of our parchment,
We were so excited that we were practically bursting at the seams!

Once started, we set out to look for the badges,
Trying to find as many as we could to win,
Searching the Hogwarts castle up and down,
Each one the team found caused all of us to grin.

As we found out, the badges weren't the real treasure,
But instead, the pride we found along the way,
No matter what kind of medal we may receive,
The real prize was the teamwork and friendships made that day.

I loved being part of this years RPM, getting to explore the castle, and meet new people from different houses/year groups. Several of the tasks were pretty challenging- I didn’t particularly enjoy having to clean up the potions classroom! But the badge I definitely found the hardest to collect was the one in the Philosophers Stones chambers, as I’m both terrible at chess, and the pieces were very difficult to move. It didn’t help that no one on our team was great at chess, but fortunately a couple of people in my team had some idea of how to go about playing the game. It took quite a lot of (sometimes heated) discussion and a lot of effort, but eventually moved out bishop to check the white queen. We celebrated briefly, but we’re all mostly relived that it was over. We took a minute to calm down, then rushed off to the DADA classroom to continue with the quest.

Through winding halls and shifting doors,
We chased the clues on castle floors,
Each riddle sharp, each puzzle tight,
Through Hogwarts' glow and candlelight.

Our team was small, but spirits high,
We laughed beneath the cloudy sky.
From dungeons cold to towers steep,
We sought the secrets shadows keep.

A badge of pride for every win,
A treasure not just found within,
But earned through stumbles, leaps, and tries,
With tired feet and gleaming eyes.

The journey taught us more than gold,
It carved a story to be told,
Of how we failed and tried once more,
And cheered when someone reached the door.

We didn’t need a shining medal
To prove we’d risen to the level.
The real reward, as we would find,
Was friendship forged and open mind.
