Which Wand is the best?
by Ruralin Fiddlestop
Well, it's not really a question, as the wand chooses the wizard and no two wands are the same, but let us take a look at wand cores for a start. The most common wand cores are phoenix feathers, unicorn hairs and dragon heartstrings. Once in awhile less common cores, such as veela hair, are used. Wands with phoenix feather cores are usually very powerful. Harry Potter and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named both use wands with this core with devastating effects as hero and villain.
Unicorn hairs are probably the most used of wand cores. This may be due to the fact that phoenixes rarely ever come within reaching distance of strange humans and hardly anyone would make the effort to kill a fully fledged dragon just for the tiny heartstring within. No, but there is no doubt unicorns are hard to catch, because they are extremely distrusting creatures and they generally stay away from people. Even so, they are still more easily found than other magical beings.
So there is no "best wand", but there is a best wand for you. It is evident that each wand has only one true owner, and now we will try to find the traits that you and your wand must share to truly be in a magical partnership.
Length has a correlation that is far easier to see than that of wand core and owner. Upon entering Ollivander's Wand Shop, measurement is a procedure that must be endured by all customers of this legendary wand shop. This means that the lengths measured by the magical measuring tape will help ascertain the length of your wand!
It is unlikely that type of wood has any say in the choice of owner as no pattern has been noticed yet .
There you have it. Once again, there is no real "best wand", there is only the best wand for you, the wand that completes the test to be your owner with full marks. That wand is the wand for you.
