Updates

January 4, 2008

Happy New Year everyone! Here we are again with this year's first Alte issue, and somehow we're still going strong! A bit of what you'll see in this issue:

Articles: A new year calls for resolutions, of course. There is also the topic of Muggles versus wizards, and Faye's 'faye-vourite' movies of 2007!

Scientifics: You'll be yawning away at the yawning article (though not out of boredom!) and reading about the online addictions of the Internet.

Reviews: Quite a bit of books read this month! Also take a look at Maya's anime review (*completelynotsuggestingthatyouwatchit*).

Columns: Only one column this month, but to carry on the theme of addictions, here's one that might appeal to a number of you: fangirling.

Poems and Ads: As usual, creativity continues to flow with poetry and ads.

Ravenclaw Brain Challenge: The winner for this issue's Brain Challenge is Isla Amoura! Congrats and hopefully somebody finds your missing brain soon. Go look at the next one and send us your answers!

Also, I have added Maya Winters and Jenna Hathaway to the "Staff Writers" list because they somehow have managed to submit something for quite a number of the issues for Alte. Welcome to the group!

The Alte will be facing a new makeover hopefully by next issue, so look out for that! And submit more articles to me!

December 2, 2007

Just in time for the impending holidays! The Alte's been quite busy these days, and here's hoping the smoke doesn't run out just yet!

Articles: Take an inside look of Ravenclaw and their deep, dark...sekrits? Also, we have a glimpse of the Christmas holidays.

Scientifics: Ever wondered about snowflaked? Or did you ever ask yourself why boats manage to float, even though they're so heavy? Rosanna Gullveig and Maya Winters will enlighten you in that perspective!

Reviews: Eagles like to read, so it's quite fitting that we have a number of reviews of books that range from fantasy novels to science fiction. There's also a special review of the TV show "House."

Columns: Addie-Vice returns again this month! Go take a look at what she has to say! For more on columns, go visit Morag's Music or delve into this issue's topic of Cassie's mind.

Poems and Ads: We have a number of poems fitting for the season, so enjoy them! Also, creative juices have been flowing because the advertisements for various HOL activities have increased!

Ravenclaw Brain Challenge: I'm pleased to announce that the winner for this issue's Brain Challenge is Maya Winters! Congratulations! And check out the next Brain Challenge!

Also, in other notes, I've added a Past Layouts page, because I actually found a bunch lying in a long-lost folder in the Alte. Considering the past stuff has been very prettily done, I figure I'd keep an homage to the old website maintainers! :)

November 3, 2007

Due to the massive amount of submissions last month (and this month, to boot!), here's the November issue of the Alte in full blast goodness! We have the randomest articles this month, as well as a number of puzzles for you to do (Ravenclaw Brain Challenge is open to all, by the way!).

Articles: Quite numerous, from one about making adorable little babies to witch burnings, to Denethor and Faramir!

Scientifics: When an eagle gets geeky, they surely get geeky. XD Rosanna and Maya entertain us with their witty articles about fighting onions and pondering the meaning of all those red/orange leaves.

Reviews and Puzzles: We have a book and show review for you, as well as a Sudoku and the Brain Challenge for you to do! Enjoy!

Columns, Specials, Ads: Along with the Alte ad at the top, Maya has also made one to cheer the RQT on! Check it out. There's a bit of poetry in the showcase, and of course we have our columns of the month (check them out *g*). Also, congratulations to last month's Brain Challenge winner! *steals Scarlet's brains*

Again, I love submissions! Send me more things! Thanks!
