Christmas Winter
Graphic and poem by Aylarah Scale
All is bare
And Jack Frost’s breath
Fills the air
The sun sets quickly,
The wind is cold
And we see in this season
The year growing old
It’s time to have fun
In five or six months
There’ll be too much sun
And Christmas is coming!
They shout and they scream
I hope you see presents
And reindeer when you dream
The birds have all gone
‘Cept for one lone robin
Who must carry on
Life is fading
And like a lost, frightened pup
We see in this season
The earth giving up
Soaked to the bone
You call for a taxi –
You want to go home
As if bought from a shop
It’s sell-by’s expired
And we see in this season
The world is tired
